What exactly is a Backload?
Backloads are very common practice within the . In simple terms, we use up any excess space left over for smaller, less urgent jobs and offer a cheaper rate to customers for this space.
If for example a driver was going from Melbourne to Darwin in a 60m3 removal van, and had a job booked in that took up 50m3 of the space, they would then look for a backload job to fill up the last 10m3 of space in the truck, and offer that customer a cheaper price to move to Darwin on their upcoming trip.
We also utilise the backloading method for return trips, as it is common for drivers to be able to fill themselves up when leaving Melbourne, but they often struggle to fill up when returning from Darwin.This is where we come in and help secure customers space and drivers extra work for their trip.
